I received a call back from an online submission The call lasted 4 minutes which involved me providing my name and date of birth and my medical concerns I have no idea who I spoke to or their medical role the female literally just said you need to try antidepressants I’ll send them to the clinic try them for a month if you don’t get on with them stop When I want to collect them from the pharmacy I didn’t even know which one the call was so short there was accidentally prescribed 2 months of tablets which cost over £20. Since then I made a decision not to take the medication as I am not depressed never have been and had many chats through the Balance app with Dr Newton

I feel a telephone conversation to discuss issues around menapause symptoms should not be discussed over a phone call. Symptoms are complex and sometimes difficult and emotive to talk about I would like a face to face consultation to discuss in detail the problems I am currently experiencing I also have a prolactin issues I would have liked to discuss but felt my appointment was too rushed.

As a general observation it would seem that appointments with a Nurse Practitioner is relatively straightforward, but actually seeing a GP is more complicated I.e. the requirement for a telephone consultation and then if required,a "face to face" appointment is then arranged. Fortunately, I have not had to request many appointments in the last few years, but I am confused as to why the system pre Covid cannot be re-established. The concern is that people who need to seek advice from a GP may not bother due to the process involved and this may have consequences for their health.

Nothing.

The nurse was very nice and friendly asked me if I knew what the blood test was for which I did it took 10 min but I was very late going in not due to my fault

Suggested improvements
When you make a appointment it needs to be kept to that time because if you turn up late for a appointment your told you’ve missed your time and need to make another appointment but it’s the cost of the car park a appointment which should of took about 15 (a blood test) ended up costing £1.80

I’m still uncomfortable with having just a call back appt to start any process. It makes me feel that I have to be really, really ill or in terrible pain to get to see a Doctor. I am far more reluctant these days to ‘bother’ the Doctor with symptoms that worry me. I know that everyone works really hard at the surgery and on the odd occasions that I do attend everyone is very kind and helpful and that is very much appreciated.

Suggested improvements
As above, I hate the ‘call back’ system and wish it could go back to pre covid ways but can appreciate that at least you get to talk to a Doctor (usually on the day) and not wait days (or weeks) for an appt.

The care I received both by phone and in person from Nurse Michelle and Dr Thomas Wincott was all I could ask for. Well done Churchfields Surgery.
